This and that

I had to rub my eyes a few times this morning to make sure that what I was seeing outside was really there...SNOW...IN EARLY OCTOBER.  What?!?!?  Because I am never prepared for anything, I made a mad dash to Target at 8 am in a total panic because Chloe didn't have boots yet and she had farm school this morning where they spend most of their time outdoors.  Yes, I could have kept her home - after all, she still has a cold, but then I started to envision the future if I kept her home for that reason - "Mom, I have to stay home from school today because my favorite jeans are dirty", "Mom, I'm having a bad hair day so I can't go to school"...okay, maybe a little bit of an exaggeration, but she is my drama queen afterall.

On Friday, we had our neighbors, J and L, over while their parents attended work meetings.  I love these boys and I was trying to think of something fun for the kids to do while they were here.  I decided to bake some sugar cookies and let them decorate...and did they ever decorate!  These sugary delights were filled with all the frosting, sprinkles, candy, licked spoon germs and sneezes you could ever want.  (There was a plate of germ-free cookies that I decorated ... and enjoyed.)

Annalise has found a new hobby.  So far this week, I have picked up bag of chocolate chips off the floor (bag was open) and about two cups of powdered sugar that was dumped.  Good times.  :)

This weekend I am heading a couple of hours south to a cottage with my aunts and cousins.  We are having a girl's weekend and I am so looking forward to it.  Hope you're all having a good week!  I'll leave you with a few pics of my girls taken today.
